Cavallino-Treporti: European Open-Air Capital

The project is aimed at promoting the tourist destination of Cavallino-Treporti, specifically developing and consolidating the aggregation of the most representative businesses in the area, united in the Tourism Promotion Consortium "Parco Turistico di Cavallino-Treporti".

The project's inception stems from a development, promotion, and innovation strategy shared by the stakeholders involved, with the main objective of promoting new types of products compared to the now-established beach tourism, namely those related to the "outdoor experience". This is not only determined by the predominant presence of outdoor accommodation facilities but is properly understood as a lifestyle, which finds its natural expression in all factors characterizing the territory.

Cavallino-Treporti is not only sea and wide beaches but offers a whole series of territorial beauties to be discovered and promoted: the lagoon, nature, numerous activities that can be practiced in the area, such as cycling tourism, walking routes, boating, water sports in general, the open-air museum route, historic villages, vegetable gardens, and everything that can provide inspiration to the guest.

For the development of the product related to slow & green tourism and to achieve the related objectives, the project has provided for specific promotional-marketing actions, reputation and awareness, both with traditional tools, such as television commercials, the Sole 24 Ore event, and specialized foreign press, and with purely online tools, through the website, social networks, the use of innovative platforms, and the involvement of influencers or travel bloggers. The various actions have made it possible to promote Cavallino-Treporti as a "sustainable destination", understood from an economic, environmental, and social point of view, also thanks to the emphasis on the Unesco brand of the locality.

All this has led to significant effects on the entire destination, such as the de-seasonalization of the offer and an increase in tourist flows, thanks to new market niches. Furthermore, the project also has effects on increasing employment and the entrepreneurial development of businesses, through efficient use of resources and sustainable management of natural capital and cultural heritage.

Intervention carried out using funding from the Complementary Operational Program (POC) to the POR FESR 2014-2020 of the Veneto Region.
