What are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites send to the user's browsing device (usually a browser). They are stored in the browser's folder during the visit and re-transmitted to the sites on subsequent visits.

Cookies are used to improve navigation, save preferences (username, password), track tastes and preferences for targeted marketing or related services such as newsletters or communications.

Limitations on the use of cookies can compromise the usability of the site. The user can block or delete them through the browser settings, but this can cause malfunctions.

Types of Cookies

Session Cookies

Temporary files that last only during the browsing session. They disappear when the browser is closed. Useful for remembering information between pages, such as the content of an e-commerce cart.

Persistent Cookies

They remain active even after the browser is closed, to remember data and preferences such as language, theme, or subsequent logins, improving ease of use.

Third-Party Cookies

Cookies generated by sites or servers other than the one visited, for example, to embed advertisements or analysis tools. They can be disabled or removed via the browser or dedicated software, but this may limit some site functionalities.
